Gentle LOADS was funded by Nohemi Medina. A single mother whose personal financial struggle journey inspired a mission to serve others in her community. After recovering from a serious car accident, Nohemi gained a deeper understanding of the day-to-day challenges many individuals face in her community to maintain clean clothes due to disability or financial hardship. Recognizing how the inability to do laundry can affect a person’s dignity, hygiene, and well-being, Nohemi launched Gentle LOADS to fill this gap in her community.
Gentle LOADS provides free or low-cost laundry services to individuals and families experiencing poverty, homelessness, and those with disability. Gentle LOADS exists to alleviate the burden of laundry, offering not just clean clothes, but also dignity, care, and hope and resources to those in need. Today, Gentle LOADS operates as a volunteer-driven nonprofit, partnering with local organizations, volunteers, and donors to create a more hygienic and healthy community.
